I've tried every litter box out there. Currently have 11 cats & 4 large dogs (who eat out of the "snack boxes"--my husband's name for the litter boxes). With so many cats I had to have a single room just for litter boxes; but no matter how often we cleaned them each day the entire house smelled like a giant litter box. Have had 2 LR's for 3 years and they are a GODSEND. Guests can't believe we have so many cats, because of the lack of odor. Cleaning the litter used to take hours each day, and killed my back and arthritis in my hands. Now I empty the drawer in each robot once a day...takes me a couple minutes. The dogs rarely have time to catch a snack as the robot usually cycles before they can get to it. Disagree with previous reviewer...I'd pay twice what I paid for these things; they are worth every penny. My house is so much more sanitary, and I am no longer a slave to those smelly boxes.

This is the best litter box I have used for a multiple cat home. It works exactly as it is supposed to.

Just rec'd this in the mail, assembly was easy and my cat loves it as it poses as a scrathing post as well. I have found most of the covered litter boxes are so small and this one has a lot of room. The price was less than most sites selling this same product.

One problem I have with the litter robot site is, it states the litter robot is less expensive to operate because you need no special litter or special receptacles, Well as anyone who has owned a littermaid knows you can line the recepticles with plastic bags, great use for all those grocery bags laying around, And I use the cheapest available clumping litter in it with no problems whatsoever. So in reality the litter robot costs exactly the same to operate as the littermaid.
Yeah the littermaid is not perfect you still have to scoop out the small stuff it misses, Same with litter robot just less often,
I have researched and used both products thoroughly. The litter robot usually lasts around 5 years, The littermaid around 3,If taken good care of. My opinion is that at one third of the price you can buy 3 littermaids for the same amount of money and they will last you about twice as long as 1 litter robot.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Unless you want to hear lots of noise through the night, and you like to constantly fix things that "hang up"...........we had to use bar soap to rub the sides of the litter box, so it wouldn't hang up as the AUTOMATIC RAKING PROCESS took place (or not)..........SO IF YOU LIKE TO THROW MONEY AWAY, BUY THIS ITEM.
